Project Overview
This landmark project for the Arizona Department of Transportation will transform a vital section of Interstate 10 between Park Avenue and Alvernon Way in Tucson, Arizona. It stands as the largest highway project in southern Arizona to date. The project will bring much needed safety upgrades and an increase in traffic flow to the region.
The project scope consists of widening I-10 to add three lanes in each direction between milepost 262 and Alvernon Way. Additional traffic interchange improvements include revamping the Kino Parkway interchange, removal of the Palo Verdo Road interchange, and construction of a new interchange at Country Club Road. Plans also include a new I-10 westbound entrance ramp from Alvernon Way and an I-10 undercrossing that connects the North and South Kino Sports Complex.
