San Diego, Calif. (April 11, 2024) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded $22,500 in grants to six San Diego nonprofits.

“Our employee-owners are thrilled to support these organizations and their missions to serve our community with essential services,” said Soula Wynne, the Sundt Foundation’s regional representative.

The following nonprofits each received a grant of $3,500: VetCTAP, Ride Above Disability Therapeutic Riding Center, Serving Seniors, Special Needs Resource Foundation of San Diego and Support The Enlisted Project (STEP). Additionally, Miracle Babies was awarded with a grant of $5,000 to support its mission.

The Veteran Career Transition Assistance Program (VetCTAP) increases the veteran employment rate by helping transitioning military, veterans and spouses. The program builds personal confidence and enhances individual economic stability through job search skills training, practical tools and one-on-one coaching.

Ride Above Disability Therapeutic Riding Center provides equine-assisted therapy, which contributes to the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of individuals living with a disability. This grant allows disadvantaged children to partake in therapy lessons that wouldn’t normally be afforded to them.

Serving Seniors’ general store provides free basic needs items to low-income and unhoused seniors at its Senior Wellness Center and affordable housing residences. The grant will provide essential hygiene items for low-income and unhoused seniors.

The Special Needs Resource Foundation of San Diego connects families and individuals with disabilities to resources, services and opportunities while encouraging an inclusive community and enhancing quality of life.

Support the Enlisted Project builds financial self-sufficiency among junior active duty enlisted members and recently discharged enlisted veterans and their families facing financial crisis through counseling, education and grants.

Miracle Babies helps perinatal mothers and their families by providing transportation, mental health assistance and supportive services with the goal of bridging the gap in healthcare access and improving health outcomes for those who may not have had access to this support otherwise.
