BRIDGES

SYSTEMATIC VALUE ENGINEERING

It’s a fact of civil engineering: Every project is different, because every site is different.

At Sundt, we thrive on that variability, with innovative thinkers bringing value to each fresh challenge, finding new ways to reduce environmental disturbance, maintain traffic flow and construct efficient, durable structures. Key to our success in constructing bridges and multi-level traffic interchanges is our ability to select the best structure for each condition, optimizing every component from foundations, substructure, superstructure and aesthetics. Our systematic value engineering approach puts solutions in place as quickly as possible.

ACCELERATED BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION

Sundt has long been an industry leader in accelerated bridge construction (ABC), beginning with our pioneering work in the soffit-fill approach to bridge-building in the 1960s.

The use of ABC not only speeds construction, it creates a safer site while lowering costs by eliminating the need for shoring materials and reducing the use of cranes, forklifts and concrete pumps. Working in steel, precast concrete and cast-in-place concrete, innovations such as these have enabled us to trim as much as a year off of clients’ projected schedules, even when building aesthetically and structurally sophisticated bridges.
