Charlotte, NC (December 14, 2023) – The Sundt Foundation recently gave $5,000 each to five nonprofit organizations for a total of $25,000.

“We feel so fortunate to be able to give to five amazing nonprofit organizations this quarter,” said Andre Castaneda, Sundt Foundation board member for the Charlotte area. “We were able to fund a variety of organizations, all with vastly different yet equally important and impactful missions.”

Charlie Mike of Liberty, North Carolina is committed to helping veterans address daily challenges that may arise following military service. North Carolina has the third highest population of veterans in the nation, so this organization is crucial in getting essential services to our country’s present and former service members such as service animals, mental health resources, housing, employment and more.

Child Care Resources Inc. (CCRI) is a child care resource and referral agency in Charlotte that works with families and communities to give children access to high-quality, affordable early learning and school-age opportunities and experiences that enable them to succeed in school and in life. The $5,000 grant from the Sundt Foundation will help fund these initiatives, creating economic opportunity for generations.

HopeKids North Carolina organizes and hosts free, fun events for families with children dealing with life-threatening medical conditions, from live entertainment and private movie screenings to amusement parks and sporting events. The grant money will go towards funding these events, drawing families together and building lasting connections among attendees.

American Cancer Society is a leading cancer-fighting organization, improving the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support. ACS is committed to ensuring everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat and survive cancer. The grant funds the nonprofit’s Hope Lodge program, which provides free lodging and accommodations for cancer patients and their caregivers, making treatment more accessible and comfortable.

New Leash on Life of Tennessee will be able to help support pet owners in need with its grant. The nonprofit provides free pet food to people with limited funds so that pet owners can focus their money toward other necessities, helping to keep pets in homes and out of shelters.
