 |  Press Release

Nashville, Tenn. (November 15, 2023) – Sundt Construction recently promoted Lonnie Emmert to field superintendent.

Emmert currently supports Sundt’s work to improve the Nashville Metro Water Services KR Harrington and Omohundro Water Treatment Plants.

“Lonnie’s diverse experience in progressive civil construction is an asset to our team,” said Sundt Project Executive Steve Van Loan. “He has been a general foreman for our craft team, and his skill and grit has resulted in our successful performance on this project.”

Emmert has over 35 years of experience in civil construction as a craftsman, foreman and superintendent in the paper, solar and energy sectors. His background includes managing all aspects of civil and concrete construction on site. Emmert’s notable and diverse project experience includes a highly successful, fast-track EPC tissue machine and converting line; turbine foundation installation for several East Coast clients; and overseeing foundations for mile-long conveyor systems as a concrete and civil superintendent.

The KR Harrington Filter Rehabilitation project is the first of several sub-projects with Metro Water Services (MWS) of Nashville. The project involves the rehabilitation of 18 existing water filter bays. It is being conducted within an operating facility and involves close coordination with MWS to ensure the process of producing drinking water for the people of metropolitan Nashville is not interrupted. Sundt has completed approximately 40% of the project scope and is five months ahead of schedule.

Sundt’s history in the Southeast dates back more than 50 years. Some of the firm’s notable area landmarks include Launch Pad 39A at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, where NASA first launched U.S. astronauts into space, and the concrete core of One Atlantic Center in Atlanta, Georgia built using an innovative “slipform” technique pioneered by Sundt and later used all over the country.
