SACRAMENTO, Calif. (April 20, 2016) – Sundt Construction, Inc.‘s Northern California employees have selected two local nonprofit organizations, Shriners Hospitals for Children Northern California and Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada, to receive $3,000 Sundt Foundation grants a piece, totaling $6,000 this quarter.
Shriners Hospitals for Children Northern California,a regional pediatric medical center located in Sacramento, will use the funds to continue providing highly specialized care and rehabilitation to children with congenital conditions and complex medical care, regardless of the families’ ability to pay. Meanwhile, Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada, whichis dedicated to ending homelessness and transforming communities into safer and healthier places, will use the funds to support its human services programs.
The Sundt Foundation was established by Sundt in 1999 to give its employee-owners a means of giving back to their communities. It provides financial support to nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and adults. Most grants are made to organizations in the communities where Sundt has offices and construction projects. The Foundation is funded primarily by contributions from Sundt employees and company matching. To date, the organization has awarded more than $7 million in donations to organizations throughout California, Arizona, Texas and beyond.
