EL PASO, Texas (Aug. 31, 2014) – Sundt Construction, Inc.’s El Paso employees have selected two local nonprofit organizations, El Paso’s Miracle League, Inc. and Child Crisis Center of El Paso, to receive $2,500 Sundt Foundation grants totaling $5,000 for this quarter.
El Paso’s Miracle League, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides children with mental and/or physical challenges an opportunity to play sports as a team member in an organized league, will use the grant to pay for expenses for uniforms, equipment and end of season awards for the 400 athletes.
Child Crisis Center of El Paso, an emergency shelter for children 13 years old and younger, will use the funding to continue offering a safe, secure, supervised living environment for children in need of housing during a family crisis. Within the secure environment, all children have access to an individual bed, personal hygiene items, food, clothing, school supplies and transportation to school.
The Sundt Foundation was established by Sundt in 1999 to give its employee-owners a means of giving back to their communities. It provides financial support to nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and adults. Most grants are made to organizations in the communities where Sundt has offices and construction projects. The Foundation is funded primarily by contributions from Sundt employees and company matching. To date, the organization has awarded more than $6 million in donations to organizations throughout Texas, California, Arizona and beyond.
