AGC Honors Sundt Construction Civil Area Manager With Texas Project Award

 |  Press Release

SAN ANTONIO (August 20, 2014) – Sundt Construction, Inc. Civil Area Manager Chris Cedar has won the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Texas Project Award. The award, honoring the late Texas Department of Transportation Engineer-Director Raymond Stotzer, recognizes excellent cooperation on construction projects and outstanding project design work.

Cedar was nominated by AGC district engineers and division heads for his effort and collaboration in constructing the West Seventh Street Bridge in Fort Worth, Texas.

“I am honored to receive this esteemed award,” said Cedar. “It’s gratifying to be recognized for your work on such an important road improvement project in the Fort Worth community. I’m also thankful to be a part of a company recognized as a national transportation construction expert, having completed more than 228 design-build projects.”

The West Seventh Street Bridge was part of a renovation project to improve the structure’s safety and pedestrian access, and further develop the architectural revitalization in the corridor. The bridge consists of six arch spans across the Trinity River, making it the first bridge of its kind in Texas due to the arch’s pre-cast, post-tensioned structure.

Sundt has a history of more than 45 years and $1.5 billion of project work throughout the Lone Star State. Among the general contractor’s notable Texas projects are the West Seventh Street Bridge, Fort Worth; Warrior in Transition Barracks at Fort Bliss, Fort Sam Houston and Fort Hood; Reunion Tower, Dallas; Legacy Town Centers, Plano; work at Austin Bergstrom International Airport; and the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) 911 Dispatch Center, San Antonio.
