Sundt Construction Expands Its San Diego Office

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (July 22, 2014) – Sundt Construction, Inc. recently expanded its San Diego office, adding four new team members.

David Barragan, Sef Silofau, Stephen Mayes and Jeffrey Cardenas join the team constructing the two million-square-foot Rental Car Center at San Diego International Airport, which is on schedule for completion in late 2015.

Barragan, a field superintendent within Sundt’s concrete operations, rejoins Sundt with more than 22 years of extensive construction experience, including 17 years of concrete work. In his new role, Barragan manages the day-to-day field activities, as well as plans and advises subcontractors for efficient execution of their scope.

Silofau, a project superintendent, brings more than 15 years of construction experience working on significant projects throughout Southern California. As project superintendent, he oversees all field operations, including coordinating subcontractors, managing the schedule and ensuring safety.

Mayes, a field engineer within Sundt’s concrete operations, comes to Sundt after working for another well-known construction company for 30 years. His vast experience with building layouts will be a vital asset to the Rental Car Center field team.

Cardenas, a field engineer within Sundt’s concrete operations, worked for the general contractor previously for five years on many influential projects, including the $77 million Aztec Student Union project at San Diego State University. In his new role, Cardenas assists the project engineer as the technical source of information for the project.
