TEMPE, Ariz. (May 30, 2014) – Sundt Construction, Inc. was recently listed as the nation’s 62nd largest construction company, according to statistics compiled by Engineering News-Record (ENR), a leading trade publication.

The latest ranking marks the 50th anniversary since ENR began its Top 400 Contractors list. One of only a few dozen companies ranked in the original list and still ranked today, Sundt currently sits 50 spots ahead of its initial position in 1964.

Sundt — one of a limited number of contractors that builds both civil and building projects — reported revenues of nearly $1 billion in 2013. Serving both private and public clients, the employee-owned general contractor builds throughout the United States. Sundt remains at the forefront of the construction industry, bringing innovative and sustainable solutions to a range of markets, including laboratories, education, highways, bridges, rail, airports, mining and industrial, power and water treatment plants, government, commercial and concrete.

In 2013, Sundt completed work on many high-profile projects, including the City of Fort Worth West Seventh Street Bridge in Fort Worth, Texas.; University of California, Davis’ Veterinary Medicine 3B Building in Davis, California.; San Diego International Airport Landside Expansion in San Diego, California.; and the John M. Roll United States Courthouse in Yuma, Arizona. Other notable projects currently underway include the Sellwood Bridge project in Portland, Oregon; and the Wichita Falls Municipal Airport Terminal project in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Founded in 1890 by a Norwegian immigrant named Mauritz Martinsen Sundt, the general contractor is one of the oldest and largest construction companies in the United States. Today, Sundt is owned entirely by its approximately 1,500 employees.
