SAN DIGEO, Calif. (April 11, 2013) – Sundt Construction, Inc. recently was named one of the country’s safest construction companies by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America at its annual convention. The company won the AGC’s Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA) for first place in the Highway Division (over one million work hours). The CSEA recognizes excellence in safety programs, occupational health management and risk control.
Prior to the national convention, AGC’s San Diego chapter awarded Sundt’s Southern California office a first place CSEA in the Building Division category (250-450,000 work hours).
“This is an impressive accomplishment, considering the competition in our division,” said Paul Levin, Sundt director of safety and quality, commenting on the national recognition. “It is a testament to our efforts in support of Sundt’s Safety by Choice initiative, and the value that Sundt employees at every level of the company place on working safe and making the right choices.”
Companies vying for the award were required to compete first at the local level before advancing to the national arena, and then were allowed to submit only one application for consideration by the AGC Safety & Health Committee. National winners were chosen based on their oral presentations before a panel of industry leaders. Sundt’s presentation team included Mike Hoover, chief operating officer; Paul Levin, director of safety and quality; and Paul Sprecco, area safety manager.
Sundt is a past winner of the CSEA Highway Division award (2006 and 2010) and the CSEA Grand National Safety award (2006).
