President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board
Mike is the President and CEO of Sundt Construction, a general contractor that has been in business for over a century and a quarter, and is known for its commitment to quality and innovative approaches to transportation, industrial and building projects. A former chairman of the Highway and Transportation Division of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), Mike is active on several boards of directors, including the Greater Phoenix Leadership (GPL), the Construction Industry Round Table (CIRT), the Beavers, a national heavy civil organization, and the Road Information Program (TRIP). A 30-year industry veteran, Mike earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona in Tucson.
KEVIN M. BURNETT
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Kevin manages Sundt’s financial operations and investments, including accounting, tax, financial reporting and risk management areas. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Construction Industry Finance Professional. Kevin is Past President of the Valley of the Sun Construction Finance Managers Association and serves as Co-Chair for the Program Committee. He is Past Chairman and current board member of the YMCA of Southern Arizona, and is a board member of the Sun Corridor, member of the ABA Legislative Committee and past board member of Downtown Tempe Community.
Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
Dan manages Sundt’s strategic infrastructure, including overseeing talent management, information technology and office services as well as its ESOP. He serves on Sundt’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Ethics and Compliance Committee, Sundt Foundation Board and the ESOP and 401(k) Advisory Committee. He serves on the board of the Construction Professional Executives Group, Expect More Arizona, Arizona Business and Education Coalition and is active in the national Center for Employee-ownership and ESOP Association. Dan also is a former Board of Trustees member for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Arizona chapter and board member of Employee-owned S Corporation of America.
RONALD R. STUFF
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Compliance Officer
Ron manages Sundt’s legal department, which is responsible for all corporate legal matters, advises management, and assists all Sundt team members, including consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, in meeting their commitments by knowing and complying with the laws, regulations and contract provisions that apply to their performance on Sundt projects.
President, Building Group
Teri brings over 40 years of experience in the construction industry to her role as President of the Building Group, which has flourished under her direction. The Building Group is responsible for more than $1 billion of work this year across California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Under her leadership, the company’s building revenue has grown by over 50 percent. Teri is a LEED accredited professional, Certified Professional Constructor, a board member of the Performance Based Building Coalition (a public-private partnership industry group) and sits on the Construction Management Advisory Board of the University of California, Berkeley. She is also a guest lecturer at the University of California, Davis. Teri earned her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Design from the University of Southern California.
President, Industrial Group
Rich has a background of almost 30 years in heavy industrial projects. He joined Sundt in 2014 as Senior Vice President for the Industrial Group, and under his management the group has seen tremendous growth, with increased revenue, improved safety performance, added market penetration, and expanded geography. Throughout this growth cycle, the group has maintained high scores for customer satisfaction with current clients while expanding the company’s client base. Rich has deep experience in power, renewables, forest industries, water, mining, technology, and other process areas including gasification, gas-to-liquids and algae fuels. Originally from the Northeast, Rich earned his degree in Construction Management from Syracuse University and has worked in various capacities for major contractors throughout North America.
Senior Vice President & Manager, Transportation Group
Since 1989, Jeff has worked in construction as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Superintendent, Sr. Project Manager and Regional VP on a variety of major projects. Jeff first worked for Sundt from 1993 to 1996 and returned in 2011 after 15 years as a Regional VP for a large civil contractor in the Southwest, where he helped grow annual volume from $28 million to $242 million. Currently, as Senior Vice President and Group Manager, Jeff leads Sundt’s Transportation Group and has the authority to bind agreements for the company up to $50 million. He is a former chairman and life director of the AGC Arizona Chapter, current board member of The Road Information Program (TRIP) and member of the American Public Works Association. Jeff earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from the University of Arizona in Tucson.
Senior Vice President and Manager, Public-Private Partnership (P3) Group
James has more than 25 years of construction experience and has been working in the P3 market since its early use in the US during the mid-1990s. He is responsible for growing P3 opportunities for Sundt by working closely with our core groups on project pursuit and delivery. James also works with governments, private sector investors and financial institutions to establish key partnerships, and he advocates for policies and practices that strengthen the construction industry. His background includes leading the successful pursuit and close of numerous transactions across all spectrums of alternate project delivery, including toll and availability payment concessions, municipal financing, design-build and long-term maintenance agreements. James holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kansas State University.
Vice President and Division Manager, Concrete Division
Stewart manages Sundt’s Concrete Division, which self-performs all aspects of concrete work on Transportation, Industrial and Building Group projects, as well as concrete work for outside customers. Under Stewart’s leadership, our concrete self-perform capability has allowed Sundt to maintain better quality, scheduling, and cost for entire projects, providing greater value to our clients. Having started in the industry in 1985, Stewart has over 30 years of construction experience and an extensive self-perform background with cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing and structural steel, and site-cast/precast fabrication and erection. He is a Certified Professional Constructor (CPC) and DBIA-Certified Design-Build Professional, and he also serves as a committee member on the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC) Training Committee and as a board member of the Architecture Construction Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program of America, Phoenix chapter.
