Project Overview

Sundt, with joint venture partner UBG, constructed a new two-story, 104,000-square-foot Special Operations Forces (SOF) Group Support Battalion Facility. It serves as a primary staging, training and deployment center. The facility includes private and open office areas, conference room, classrooms, language lab, equipment lockers and maintenance areas as well as arms vault and general storage.

Building systems include fire detection and suppression, energy management control, unclassified and classified communications networks, protected distribution system, intrusion detection, surveillance and electronic access control. Additional site improvements include exterior covered storage and hardstand paving, parking and service drives, utility services, emergency vehicle access and walkway paving.

The facility was designed to LEED Silver standards. Sustainable features included low-flow plumbing fixtures; high efficiency HVAC and electrical equipment and cool-color roofing materials.
