SAN DIEGO, Calif. (September 26, 2018) – Sundt Construction, Inc. (www.sundt.com) has promoted Ryan Nessen to lead the San Diego region of the California District, Building Group. 
“Moving Ryan into this new role is a step toward making Sundt’s California District even stronger,” said Dan Dumke, Sundt’s Senior Vice President and California District Manager for the Building Group. “Ryan’s expertise will be a valuable asset to our clients as the company continues to grow and expand into new markets.”
As Vice President and San Diego Regional Director, Nessen will be responsible for business development, preconstruction and project execution throughout the region. Nessen brings nearly 25 years of construction experience to his new role, including 14 years at Sundt. In his prior immediate role Ryan served as Operations Manager for the entire Building Group, which spans, California, Arizona and Texas.
Nessen has provided leadership for many projects Sundt has constructed in the San Diego region, including San Diego State University projects South Campus Plaza and Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union, San Diego Community College District – City College Math and Social Sciences Building and Parking Structure and the Rental Car Center for San Diego International Airport.
Nessen started his career in the field as a U. S. Navy Seabee Builder 1st Class. He has since served as a project superintendent, project manager and vice president and operations manager.
Nessen promotes continuing education and holds multiple professional designations. He’s a certified LEED Accredited Professional (AP), DBIA Professional, and both a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and a Certified Professional Constructor (CPC). Nessen earned his associate’s in construction management from San Diego Mesa College and received both his B.S. in business management and his MBA from the University of Phoenix.
