Sundt Foundation Distributes $21,500 to Tucson Nonprofits

TUCSON, Arizona. (Dec. 22 2016) – A $2,500 grant from Sundt Construction, Inc. (www.sundt.com) to the El Rio Health Center Foundation will provide children in poverty access to high-quality early vision screenings. El Rio was one of 11 local nonprofits chosen by Sundt employees to receive grants totaling $21,500 this quarter.

The grant for the El Rio Health Center Foundation will support its Gift of Sight program, which provides vision screening services to children living below the federal poverty line in Tucson.

“A big thanks to Sundt Foundation from me,” said Dr. Andrew Arthur, Head of El Rio Pediatrics. “I have seen several children recently under three years old who have been found to have severe astigmatism that required glasses.  The automated vision screening is already making a direct positive impact on the lives of our children.”

Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of Sundt employees. The following nonprofits also received grants.
