FORT WORTH (May 9, 2017) – Barbara Terry of Sundt Construction, Inc. was named a finalist in the Fort Worth Admin Awards, Above the Call category.
Terry was nominated by Sundt because of her willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty and willingness to teach others. She is described by her colleagues as always putting others first, whether it be her coworkers, subcontractors, vendors or owner-clients.
Terry joined Sundt as a Project Administrator in August 2005, was promoted to Senior Project Administrator and transferred into her current role as Applications Administrator in December 2016. As Applications Administrator, Terry spends her days helping Sundt employees understand software functions, policy and procedures.
In her previous role, Terry helped her job teams track and manage construction projects and trained project managers, project engineers and project administrators about all things Sundt, from policies and procedures to accounting and software. She was also responsible for training vendors and subcontractors on Sundt’s payment processing system and procedures.
Her knowledge of processes and policies was recognized when she was asked to become a jobsite auditor in addition to her administrative duties. As an auditor, Terry traveled to jobsites to help teams in the field learn the processes necessary for maintaining their projects. She said it is an honor to be an auditor and trainer.
“What I enjoy most about my work is working with my team members to create something great,” Terry said. “Learning what I can from those who have the experience and being given the opportunity to pass on my knowledge to those wanting to go beyond what they already know gives me a feeling of accomplishment. Being chosen as a finalist for this award gives me a sense of pride that what I’ve been doing for most of my life is important to more than just me.”
The winners of the Fort Worth Admin Awards will be announced at a luncheon on Monday, June 5 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
