SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2014) – Sundt Construction, Inc. (www.sundt.com) and its UC Davis Tercero III project team have received a Golden Gate Partnership Recognition from the Cal/OSHA Consultation Service.

Cal/OSHA’s Golden Gate recognition is site-specific acknowledgement of a company’s effort to implement and maintain an effective worksite injury- and illness-prevention program. Sundt’s UC Davis Tercero III site’s compliance history, safety and health practice, training program, investigative procedures and more were evaluated for the Cal/OSHA safety commendation.

“All of our projects are led with the efforts and management of Sundt’s ‘Safety By Choice’ program,” said Shane Henry, Sundt’s senior superintendent. “During consultative visits, the entire team demonstrated a commitment to continuously improve the effectiveness of its workplace safety and health management system.”

Sundt’s “Safety By Choice” program focuses on how to maintain and increase worksite safety, as well as emphasizing why it’s important to provide a safe work environment. The general contractor encourages employees to create a safe environment through positive messaging and peer recognition. Sundt has been the recipient of several safety awards and recognitions in the construction industry, including the Grand Award by the Associate General Contractors of America and the Willis Group.
