 |  Press Release

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (Feb. 20, 2014) – Sundt Construction, Inc. completed construction of a military barracks project at the Fort Campbell installation in Kentucky, providing housing for unaccompanied enlisted personnel. The $21.4 million federal construction project — Sundt’s first at Fort Campbell — was procured by the Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District.

The complex includes two 45,545-square-foot barracks buildings with 61 living modules each totaling over 91,000 square feet, housing 244 personnel. The Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing (UEPH) project is composed of apartment-style units with two bedrooms, one bathroom and a common kitchen per module. A masonry brick veneer and standing seem metal roofs complete the exterior of the three-story buildings.

As the design-build general contractor on the project, Sundt’s associated site work included grading, utilities, parking, landscaping and additional improvements. Construction commenced in June 2012 and concluded in January 2014.

Sundt’s work in the military sector includes construction of Warrior in Transition Barracks at Fort Hood, Texas; Combat Aviation Brigade Hot Refuel Facility at Fort Bliss, Texas; and a Flight Simulator Facility at Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Ariz.

Fort Campbell, located on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line, is a 106,700-acre U.S. Army installation that is the home of the world’s only air assault division, the 101st Airborne Division.
