Among the improvements at Burbank High School, above, are a new band practice marching area (under construction in the photo) and a new agricultural facility where students can learn how to raise livestock.

As they renovate three high schools in San Antonio, Texas, Sundt and joint venture partner Guido Construction are making good use of the summer months when students are away. The team’s $65 million, Construction Manager at Risk project involves updating and expanding Brackenridge, Burbank and Lanier high schools – work that has been performed primarily while the schools were still open and operating.

Work at Burbank High School will be complete by the end of August. At Brackenridge High School, Guido-Sundt has completed demolition of the old auto shop, relocated temporary portable classrooms and started utility work. The abatement process is underway at Lanier High School.

The K-12 construction project is Sundt’s first for the San Antonio Independent School District.
