SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 20, 2024) – Sundt’s Sacramento team is proud to announce its recent round of grants totaling $21,500 to support four impactful nonprofits working to address various critical needs: Timothy Tuition Program, CASA El Dorado, Birds for Sofia and Momentum for Health.

“These grants underscore the Sundt Foundation’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families,” said Erica Brenner, Sundt Foundation board member for the Sacramento region. “We look forward to witnessing the continued impact of these grants and the lasting difference they will make for those in need.'”

Timothy Tuition Program was awarded $3,500 to assist foster children in Northern California. This organization provides foster children with essential items such as car and booster seats, backpacks, clothing, college dorm furniture, toys and more.

CASA El Dorado, recipient of a $5,000 grant, serves abused, neglected, and at-risk children and youth in foster care and juvenile justice. The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program, founded in 1992, has assisted over 4,000 children. The grant will contribute to early assistance for these children, recognizing the long-term impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and supporting the Family Coaches program, which aims to preserve family structures and prevent children from becoming wards of the court.

Birds for Sofia received an $8,000 grant to support its mission of helping children born with SMA type 1, a severe neuromuscular disorder. The organization works to relocate families to the U.S. so that their children can receive life-saving treatments. The grant will help children receive access to world-class care at University of California, Davis, offering hope to families facing the challenges of SMA type 1.

Momentum for Health was awarded $5,000 to support its six-month residential program that teaches life and parenting skills to women seeking sobriety. The program aims to reduce intergenerational transmission of drug and alcohol dependence, keeping mothers and their children together. The grant will specifically support on-site interpreters, ensuring clients for whom English is not their primary language can fully participate in treatment and recovery.
