TEMPE, Ariz. (September 29, 2021) – The Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC) has named Sundt Construction’s associate general counsel Matthew Meaker chair of their construction section for a second year. In addition, Meaker will serve as the vice-chair of the corporate counsel committee and member of the communications committee.
Meaker has been in the construction industry for 17 years, four of those with Sundt. Throughout his career, he has held multiple leadership roles. Among them are the chair of the construction law section for the State Bar of Arizona and the co-chair of the Arizona State Contractors Coalition, a group of specialty contractors focused on government advocacy. Meaker has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Construction Financial Management Association – Valley of the Sun Chapter and the Legal Counsel for the American Subcontractors Association of Arizona.
In 2015, Meaker was named an Engineering News-Record Southwest’s 20 Under 40 and received the Up-and-Comer of the Year award at the Arizona Corporate Counsel Awards in 2019. He received both his bachelor’s and a law degree from the University of Arizona.
