SAN ANTONIO (April 10, 2014) – Sundt Construction, Inc.’s Senior Vice President and Texas District Manager John Carlson joined the Board of Governors of Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA).
CASA is the only organization in Bexar County authorized to provide legal advocacy to abused and neglected children. The mission of CASA is to recruit, train and supervise court-appointed volunteers who provide constancy for the children while advocating for services and placement in safe and permanent homes.
“John Carlson is an outstanding community professional,” Rick Cooke, president and CEO of CASA, said. “We are very grateful and excited to have him on our Board of Governors and look forward to his future at CASA.”
Carlson became involved with CASA through the Sundt Foundation’s contributions and group volunteering opportunities. He has been a consistent contributor and advocate for the Foundation and has given generously throughout the years.
“Children are among the most vulnerable segment of our population and it is important they have advocates to represent them in critical times of need,” Carlson said. “I admire the work CASA does on a daily basis and I am eager to play some small role in helping them fulfill their mission of speaking for San Antonio’s children.”
Established in 1999, the Sundt Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering financial support to various local organizations with missions to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and adults.
