Project Overview
Sundt delivered a confidential hyperscale data center and mission-critical campus in Goodyear, Arizona, where coordination, precision and performance were critical to success. The facility was designed to support complex systems and high-performance operations, requiring early alignment with trade partners, equipment vendors and Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) suppliers.
The team used BIM to coordinate building systems, identify and resolve conflicts early, and keep work progressing efficiently in the field. Close coordination with vendors supported the installation of critical infrastructure, including unique liquid cooling systems. Sundt also navigated first-of-kind challenges in the Phoenix market, including permitting, utility agreements and supply chain constraints.
During construction, Sundt managed vendor installations and coordinated OFCI equipment deliveries while overcoming a switchgear malfunction, commissioning challenges and temporary power requirements. The project was completed on time and on budget, achieving Data Hall Power within 11 months and concluding with successful Integrated Systems Testing (IST), validating system performance under live conditions.
