In our commitment to sustainability, Sundt lives the same truth that guides our work for clients: green building is the natural complement to financially sound development and operations.

From more efficient water and energy systems to expansive catalogs of recycled, reclaimed and locally sourced materials, Sundt helps clients lower operating costs while also reducing waste and pollution.

But true sustainable building goes beyond any one system. It requires a holistic vision that considers every system as well as how those systems interact: how a building’s envelope impacts electrical, how interior finishes interact with HVAC.

Our proven work in alternate delivery methods and our unmatched ability to effectively partner with owners, architects and engineers have been key to Sundt’s success in solving for those interactions.

Examples of our success for owners include Building B of the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University, the first LEED Platinum building in the Southwest, and Sony Electronics’ headquarters in San Diego, one of the largest LEED-certified projects in Southern California.

Are LEED Accredited Professionals

Are LEED Certified Projects

As a contractor ranked consistently among ENR’s Top Green Builders, we believe “good for business” and “good for the environment” are two sides of the same coin.

We demonstrate sustainability not only in the structures we build, but also in our own operations and headquarters. Beyond efficient lighting and reduced in-house waste, Sundt has adopted eco-friendly fuels in select vehicles and equipment and reduced our carbon footprint through video conferencing and employee rewards for alternative-mode commuting.

Our main offices in Tempe and Tucson are both LEED Gold-certified, with our Tempe offices also recognized by three Green Globes from the Green Building Initiative, certifying leadership in best practices around energy, water and energy efficiency.

Our internal, two-volume Greenprint manual (LEED v3) ensures that we work consistently and effectively toward sustainable project goals.
