Project Overview
Sundt has partnered with the Phoenix Zoo to build a 26,000-square-foot veterinary medical center and a 10,000-square-foot rescue and care center. The finished medical center will include state-of-the-art surgical equipment and clinical research space to provide the best veterinary care to the zoo’s diverse population of animals. Other significant features of the building include viewing centers where guests can watch veterinary exams and procedures as they happen, administrative office space, and classrooms designed to educate a new generation of animal lovers. The nearby Doornbos Animal Rescue and Care Center provides a safe place for animals rescued from illegal wildlife trafficking to quarantine as well as a holding space for animals leaving or coming to the zoo. The project scope also includes site clearing, mass excavation, earth fill, site paving/parking, retaining walls, landscaping and site utilities. Sundt is donating its construction management services for the project.
