Nick Iannello brings more than 30 years of industrial, mining, and specialized facility construction experience to the team. Over his 13-year tenure with Sundt, Nick has established himself as a premier leader in delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure across the United States. Nick’s extensive background in leadership and large-scale coordination includes an honorable career in the military. Before retiring from service in 2006, he served as the Deputy Officer in Charge of the Department of Public Works, where he successfully managed critical, large-scale infrastructure projects throughout Iraq.

Nick’s diverse portfolio brings a unique layer of highly technical global expertise spanning water, wastewater, mining, and advanced manufacturing sectors. His background includes working around the world to lead complex construction and integration projects for advanced healthcare and scientific infrastructure. At Sundt, Nick specializes in guiding intricate projects seamlessly from early stage preconstruction through final delivery, with a particular expertise in design-build and construction manager at risk models. As a DBIA-certified professional, he excels at fostering the deep integration between owners, designers, and trade partners that alternative delivery requires.

Nick holds a bachelor’s degree in business/corporate communication from the University of Wisconsin. In addition to his Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) designation, he holds Certified Sustainability Construction Specialist and Certified Professional Constructor credentials.

 

Why did you choose to work in the construction industry?

I enjoy hands-on projects that start from nothing and benefit the communities around them.

 

Share a couple of your favorite hobbies.

I enjoy bluewater sailing, diving, muscle cars, offroad vehicles and hunting.

 

What is your favorite place in the world?

Being an outdoor enthusiast I love being in nature and getting away from city life.
