Why did you choose to work in the construction industry?
I started college as an architectural student but quickly realized that my strengths were better aligned with a career in construction. Early in my career, I was intrigued by the detail and process that led to successful project outcomes. As I matured in my career, job satisfaction came largely from working with high performing teams. Today, I’m enormously grateful to be part of a complex industry that shapes the physical communities that we live, work and recreate in.
Share a couple of your favorite hobbies.
I enjoy exercising, reading and sailing. I try and exercise daily, and when I do, I find that I’m more focused, patient and present. I also try and read daily as it satisfies my insatiable curiosity. When I’m able to get away, sailing is my favorite splurge as it allows me to share quality time with family and friends while on the water.
What is your favorite place in the world?
Although I adore traveling and take trips to new places every year, being at home is by far my favorite place to be. Keep in mind, living in a coastal community like San Diego is hard to beat.
