
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Feb. 20, 2026) – Chris Hjerling has joined Sundt Construction as district business development manager in Southern California, strengthening the company’s pursuit and client development efforts across the region.
He will work with project teams to refine pursuit strategies, support proposals and interviews, and expand client relationships throughout Southern California.
“Chris brings a valuable perspective because he understands construction from both the owner and pursuit sides,” said Ryan Nessen, senior vice president and California district manager. “We are looking forward to learning and growing with Chris on our team.”
Hjerling’s career includes consulting, public speaking and coaching. He has led sales and presentation training nationwide. In addition, Hjerling was an owner-builder and owner’s construction manager supporting a decade of restaurant and bar developments.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from San Diego State University.
