Sundt Supports New Endowed Infrastructure Professorship at Northern Arizona University

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 01, 2026) – Sundt Construction recently joined industry partners in support of a $1 million endowment for the creation of the Beavers Endowed Distinguished Professorship of Infrastructure at Northern Arizona University.

Sundt’s $100,000 contribution, alongside industry partners and The Beavers, will support faculty, curriculum development and industry-focused learning experiences within NAU’s Steve Sanghi College of Engineering. As the college’s first endowed faculty position, the professorship will help connect students with the knowledge and practical insights needed to succeed in Arizona’s growing infrastructure sector.

The endowment was established by The Beavers Charitable Trust and five construction companies to help ensure students gain the skills and industry perspective needed to meet the demands of a growing infrastructure sector. Representatives from Sundt and other leading general contractors are providing input on curriculum and course content for the university’s engineering and construction management programs.

“Supporting programs that connect students with real-world construction experience is important to Sundt,” said Emily Dwosh, Sundt community relations manager and Sundt Foundation executive director. “Through our partnership with Northern Arizona University, we can help prepare the next generation of construction professionals and strengthen the industry’s talent pipeline.”

Sundt has worked with NAU’s construction management program since the late 1990s, building a longstanding relationship through recruiting events, sponsorships and curriculum support. Sundt employee-owners frequently guest lecture for the program and provide industry guidance on course content and development.
