TEMPE, Arizona. (July 27, 2026) – Sundt Construction announced a companywide commitment to donate $65 million to nonprofit organizations across the United States by 2035 through the Sundt Foundation, its nonprofit arm, and other corporate giving efforts. The commitment represents more than three times the amount the Foundation distributed during its first 25 years.

“Our employee-owners continually demonstrate their passion for service and their commitment to giving back to the communities where we live and work,” said Sundt President and CEO Cade Rowley. “We are recognizing that commitment by setting this giving pledge and making it part of our 10-year strategic plan.”

“Nonprofit partners are helping more individuals than ever before, often with constrained resources. For Sundt employee-owners, the support we’re providing to our communities is our purpose statement in action,” said Emily Dwosh, Sundt Foundation executive director and Sundt community relations manager. “Nearly 50 percent of our employee-owners are contributing to the Sundt Foundation, well above the national corporate employee giving average of 10%.”

The Sundt Foundation awards grants quarterly through an application and review process, provides disaster relief funding, and contributes to local nonprofits through its annual charitable sporting events. Each year across 12 giving areas, the Foundation awards millions in grants to hundreds of nonprofits. Frequent cause areas include youth support such as foster care and education; food and housing insecurity; veterans and first responders; healthcare, including medical research and disability services; domestic violence and crisis services.

“Our corporate giving program is particularly special because giving is directed by employee-owners at the local level,” explained Dwosh. “Each giving area has its own committee responsible for reviewing the area’s grant applications and the quarterly recipients. Local employee-owners guide their giving to the causes that matter most to their region.”

Sundt’s philanthropic commitment is paired with a companywide initiative to increase employee volunteerism, with a goal of completing 200,000 volunteer hours by 2035. In 2026, employee-owners around the country have already volunteered 20,000 hours, equivalent to $720,000 in value, through a variety of activities including community beautification projects, packing food boxes for area nonprofits, creating STEM kits for K-12 students and more.

“As builders, we often point to the tangible legacy of our work, as in ‘Sundt built that bridge or built that building,'” Dwosh said. “However, our commitment to service and philanthropy is another example of the mark we can leave on our community.”
