TUCSON, Ariz. (July 21, 2026) – Sundt Construction has reached substantial completion on the Public Service Center Tenant Improvements project in downtown Tucson, delivering critical upgrades to court facilities in downtown Tucson. The project was completed under budget and one week ahead of schedule.
The 58,000-square-foot project modernizes court facilities across two buildings, converting vacant space within the Public Service Center into new courtrooms, judicial chambers and support areas. A second phase of work is scheduled to begin in August of this year which includes interior demolition of the seventh floor at the Pima County Superior Court building to support future improvements.
“Working in active, high-security environments requires thoughtful planning, coordination and accountability,” said Keegan Abele, Sundt project manager. “Our team takes pride in helping clients modernize their facilities while keeping daily operations running smoothly.”
To support project success, Sundt constructed a full-scale courtroom mock-up, allowing stakeholders to refine key design elements before construction began. Night work was also utilized to minimize impacts to daily court operations.
Sundt brings extensive experience delivering renovations in secure, occupied environments, supporting public agencies as they enhance critical infrastructure while maintaining continuity of service.
