TEMPE, Ariz. (September 02, 2026) – Sundt Construction made a $1 million commitment to the Pfister Housing Impact Fund, a business-led investment fund designed to finance workforce housing development across Greater Phoenix.
The Pfister Housing Impact Fund responds to Arizona’s workforce housing shortage, where renter costs have risen 23%, making it harder for tradespeople, teachers, hospitality workers, and others to live near the communities they serve. Structured through Greater Phoenix Leadership and RDF, and supported by a diverse coalition of businesses, philanthropic organizations, and IDAs, the business-led fund helps close financing gaps that can stall viable housing projects.

People also need the opportunity to build stable, well-rounded lives in the communities where they work. Our $1 million investment in the Pfister Housing Impact Fund allows us to approach workforce development more holistically by helping make housing more attainable and creating greater opportunity for Arizona’s workforce and communities to prosper,” said Sundt Chief Financial Officer Keenan Driscoll.
Sundt Construction has a long history of investing in workforce development and creating pathways to construction careers. Its programs lead the industry with seven apprenticeships, utilizing National Center for Construction Education and Research curriculum. Two of Sundt’s apprenticeships are offered in both English and Spanish.
Sundt also partners with several regional schools, community colleges, and industry partners to expand ongoing training programs for employee-owners and students in skilled trades roles. Sundt was a recipient of the BuildIt AZ grant, part of Governor Katie Hobbs’ BuildItAZ Apprenticeship Initiative to expand and promote construction career pathways.
Funding provided helped purchase a mobile training center, which takes hands-on learning directly to students at schools, nonprofit partners, and other events.
