FULLERTON, Calif. (October 15, 2026) – Sundt Construction joined California State University, Fullerton leaders and community partners to celebrate the completion of Jewel Plummer Cobb Hall.
The six-story apartment-style housing complex, through the support of the CSU Higher Education Student Housing Grant Program, provides for the first time at Cal State Fullerton, reduced rate housing options for eligible students. The 512-bed facility features apartments with kitchens and living areas, resident adviser and staff apartments, laundry facilities, a convenience market, Sequoia Café and outdoor gathering spaces.
“The design of Jewel Plummer Cobb Hall was focused on creating a place where students can feel at home,” said Jim Householder, vice president and Irvine regional director for Sundt. “Delivering environments that reflect the university’s vision and support student well-being has been central to our partnership with Cal State Fullerton.”
Located adjacent to the Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton, Jewel Plummer Cobb Hall incorporates a wellness-focused “garden home” concept centered around a tranquil courtyard where students can gather. The new housing complex was designed by HMC Architects.
The project marks Sundt’s second student housing project with Cal State Fullerton. In late August, students moved into their new home at Jewel Plummer Cobb Hall for the fall 2026 semester.
