
TEMPE, Ariz. (January 16, 2026) —The Sundt Companies, Inc., parent company of Tempe-based general contractor Sundt Construction, has welcomed Robert Alger to its Board of Directors, bringing more than four decades of leadership experience in engineering, construction and major infrastructure development.
Throughout his 46-year career, Alger has played a significant role in shaping the industry, leading complex organizations and delivering major infrastructure projects across North America. His operational expertise and strategic perspective will support Sundt’s continued growth and long-term strategy.

Alger served as president of The Lane Construction Corporation from 2001 to 2019 and as chairman of the board from 2019 to 2020. He brought about improvements to production efficiency, quality, service and cost efficiency while advancing Lane’s mission. He also led Lane’s strategic focus on mergers and acquisitions, including the significant 2016 merger with Salini Impregilo. Under Alger’s leadership, Lane experienced consistent revenue growth, rising to more than $2 billion annually.
Alger has also held numerous board and executive leadership roles throughout his career. He is a past chairman and executive director of ER Logix and Lane Power and Energy Solutions. His prior board service includes chairman and executive director of The Lane Construction Corporation, independent director of Surface Preparation Technologies and chairman and independent director of Kleinfelder, Inc.
