MISSOULA, Mont. (March 4, 2026) – Preconstruction efforts are underway for Montana’s second progressive design-build project in its history, the US-93 Reconstruction Progressive Design-Build Project, led by the Sundt/Schellinger joint-venture construction team.
The project will enhance wildlife connectivity while maintaining roadway safety due to the area’s grizzly bear habitats. The project includes the reconstruction of approximately 3.7 miles of US-93 from south of Eagle Pass Trail to Brooke Lane in the Nine pipe National Wildlife Refuge. The team will construct new highway bridges, a wildlife overpass, shared-use path and wildlife fencing, upgrade drainage and make improvements to roadways and intersections.

Construction is anticipated to commence in early 2027.
