
DALLAS (August 7, 2025) — Sundt Construction added two new employee-owners to its Transportation Group, Matthew Dugan as preconstruction project manager and Mikqual Pines as estimator.
Matthew Dugan joins Sundt with over 20 years of experience leading major transportation pursuits. In his role, Dugan will lead teams during the pursuit and preconstruction phases, focusing on pricing and scheduling. Dugan has been instrumental in developing and managing large-scale transportation infrastructure for projects ranging in value from $17 million to nearly $2 billion. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University in construction operations.
Mikqual Pines joins Sundt as an estimator, supporting the Transportation Group with detailed and strategic cost analysis. Pines holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in construction management and brings a wealth of field and estimating experience. Notable projects in his portfolio include the $2.3 billion 820 Southeast Connector, the I-35 Widening and the Chicago DOT Arterial Street Resurfacing Program. Most recently, he supported the USACE PAV04 and the LADOT I-10 Widening CMAR.
For over half a century, Sundt has been building critical infrastructure throughout Texas. The firm was recently recognized with an AGC Build America award for its Broadway Street Reconstruction Project in San Antonio, Texas and has multiple projects underway in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, Austin and El Paso, Texas.
