Nonprofit Returning Veterans Project Awarded $37,500 From Charity Golf Tournament

PORTLAND, Ore. (September 29, 2025) – The Sundt Foundation Pacific Northwest Charity Golf Tournament raised $37,500 for the Returning Veterans Project (RVP), who have provided confidential mental and physical health services to veterans, service members and their families since 2005. “This tournament reflects our employee-owners’ commitment to strengthening communities,” said Ken Kubacki, Sundt Foundation board member and vice president of Sundt’s Pacific Northwest region. “We’re grateful to our industry partners who came together to make a lasting impact for RVP.”

“As Returning Veterans Project celebrates 20 years, we know this milestone is only possible because of the unwavering support of our community, individual donors, and corporate partners like Sundt. In 2024 alone, their generosity made it possible for us to provide over 2,900 hours of free counseling and health services to 544 veterans, service members, and their loved ones across Oregon and southwest Washington. Together, we’ve grown from a small network into a region-wide movement of more than 150 volunteer providers and clinics—proof that when a community shows up, healing and hope multiply,” said Amy Almond-Schmid, executive director.

Through a network of licensed and insured volunteer providers, RVP offers timely, no-cost care to hundreds in the military community every year across Oregon and southwest Washington. RVP’s mission is rooted in offering confidential, low-barrier care and ensuring that those who served have the right support from providers of their choice.

Since 2001, the Sundt Foundation has hosted sporting competitions across the country to raise funds for nonprofit organizations. Collectively, these events have raised more than $2.6 million to date. In addition, the Foundation, established in 1999, has awarded more than $17 million in grants to nonprofits and contributes approximately $2 million annually to causes that reflect Sundt employee-owners’ passion for giving back.
