Sundt Foundation Donates Over $70,000 to Valley Charities

 |  Press Release, Sundt Foundation

PHOENIX (December 22, 2021) – The Sundt Foundation donated over $70,000 to Valley charities during its current giving cycle. One of the charities, Maggie’s Place in Phoenix, received a $7,500 grant for its emergency shelter program. The program provides pregnant mothers who are homeless with a nurturing home environment, food, and many support services to keep them from homelessness.

“We are happy to donate over $7,500 to Maggie’s Place so they continue to provide the necessary care to women in the Valley,” said Cathie Gabriel, the Sundt Foundation’s Phoenix region board member. “Supporting and growing our community is what our employee-owners strive to do.”

In addition to the Maggie’ Place grant, the Foundation awarded an additional $64,000 in grants to 15 Phoenix-area nonprofits during its current giving round.  Those include About Care, Arizonans for Children, Assistance League of East Valley, Central Arizona Shelter Services, Dignity House, Duet: Partners in Health & Aging, Foster Arizona, Gene Lewis Boxing Club and Youth Center, Homeless Youth connection, ICAN: Positive Programs for Youth, Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank, Neighbors Who Care, Operation Pay it Forward, Sojourner Center and the Tempe Community Action Agency.

The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local Phoenix charities that support disadvantaged children, individuals and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
