HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (November 1, 2019) – Sundt Construction, Inc. (www.sundt.com) recently completed a new Math and Science Building for Golden West College.
“This project highlights Coast Community College District’s use of Measure M bond funds and is a great addition for the students and faculty,” said John Messick, Project Director, Building Group, California District. “Working closely with the District and design team, we were able to build an environment that will maximize student success for years to come.”
The three-story, 120,516-square-foot building provides 18 wet and dry science laboratories, lecture space, faculty offices and a state-of-the-art STEM center. The new building will serve as a creative space for the math, life, and physical science departments to foster innovation and invention. The project is designed to exceed LEED Silver® standards.
Sundt served as the CM Multi-Prime administrator, and HMC Architects designed the building. The project broke ground in the summer of 2017.
Sundt has over 70 years of project work throughout the state of California. Currently, the company is working on the new Science, Engineering and Math (SEM) building and Veterans Resource Center (VRC) on the Cypress College campus. Sundt has offices in Irvine, San Diego and Sacramento.
