More than 2,400 Arizona high-schoolers got an up-close look at the construction industry during Arizona Construction Career Days last week in Phoenix.

The event was hosted by the Association of Construction Career Development and held at the Arizona Army National Guard Papago Site. Sundt was an event sponsor and had volunteers assisting with sign in and helping students build wooden toolboxes that could be taken home.

“We do our best during the building of the toolboxes to see what the students’ plans are after high school and let them know that we are always looking for new tradesmen and women as well as degreed professionals who are ready to build the future,” said Sundt Craft Workforce Development Manager Sean Ray.

Arizona Construction Career Days is the state’s largest event that gives high-school students hands-on construction experience. Some attendees travel as many as 300 miles to find out more about a career in the industry.
