Sundt Awards $15,000 In Grants To Northwest Area Nonprofits

Vancouver, Wash. (September 25, 2023) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded $15,000 in grants to three nonprofits in the Portland metro region. Black Men in Training, PAX Learning Center and Cada Casa each received a $5,000 grant.

“Our Sundt Foundation members are pleased to support these nonprofits in their missions to help our community,” said Ken Kubacki, the Sundt Foundation’s Northwest region board member. “Nonprofits like Black Men in Training, PAX and Cada Casa are crucial to identifying and meeting the needs of communities that have been historically underrepresented.”

Black Men in Training provides services and programming to support Black youth in learning how to exhibit love for self and others in a safe and positive environment. Services include physical fitness education, monthly entrepreneurship seminars, a mentorship program, a literacy program and a sister program, Black Women in Training.

PAX Learning Center provides teachers and tutors to youth and adults to support their educational goals. The center prepares individuals to take the GED and then provides mentorship in the next steps toward employment.

Cada Casa is committed to advancing equity by providing accessible, intercultural multidisciplinary art education programs, workshops and civic engagement opportunities for students. Their grant will support after-school programming in Portland-metro schools.

The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to Pacific Northwest charities that support disadvantaged members of the community. Nonprofits are selected through an application and review process led by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
