Sundt Gives $25,000 In Grants To Central Texas Charities

SAN ANTONIO, Texas.
(September 20, 2023) – The Sundt Foundation distributed $25,000 in grants to six charities in Central Texas.

“Our Sundt Foundation members care deeply about supporting those in need in our local communities,” said Chad Yount, Sundt Foundation Central Texas region board member. “It’s rewarding to be able to present nonprofits in San Antonio and Austin with these grant funds and know that we can contribute to making a difference for so many individuals.”

Child Advocates of San Antonio (CASA) received a $5,000 grant to assist in their efforts to recruit, develop, and lead court-appointed volunteer advocates. These advocates provide consistency and support for children and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect.

The Children’s Shelter was given a $4,000 grant to support programming and resources that help families break cycles of abuse. The organization provides a safe haven for children who are experiencing trauma and instability due to abuse, neglect and/or abandonment.

K9 for Warriors was awarded a $4,000 grant in support of their mission to provide service dogs to military veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder. Many of the dogs are rescues as well, and K9 for Warriors helps nurture a mutually beneficial bond to facilitate healing and recovery.

YMCA of Greater San Antonio received $4,000 to support their programming for camps and recreational activities for the community.

Caritas of Austin received $4,000 to help their efforts to ensure members of the community have shelter, access to healthy food, jobs that pay a living wage and educational opportunities.

Partnerships for Children was awarded a $4,000 grant. The nonprofit organization provides resources to children and families in the care of Child Protective Services. Partnerships for Children offers services and programs to help minimize distress for children impacted by instability.
