Sundt Foundation Awards Grants to North Texas Nonprofits

The funds will support five organizations working for children and families in need.

Dallas, Texas (March 27, 2023) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded $16,500 in grants to North Texas nonprofits.

“These grants are important to the growth and development of our local nonprofits,” said Barbara Terry, the Sundt Foundation’s North Texas region board member. “Our employee-owners are happy to support these organizations in their endeavors.”

North Texas-based charity Literacy United has been awarded $3,500 to help economically disadvantaged individuals who struggle with reading.

Community Partners Dallas, a nonprofit working with abused children needing immediate attention and the Fortress Youth Development Center, another nonprofit providing hope and resources for children and their families, have both been awarded $3,000.

Denton County Friends of the Family, a nonprofit providing comprehensive services to those impacted by rape, sexual abuse, and domestic violence has also received $3,000 in grants.

Pasos for Oak Cliff is an organization founded by educators dedicated to building a culture of education for social upward mobility in Oak Cliff through sneakers, scholarships, and educational programs. They have been awarded $4,000 for the purchase of shoes and care items for their recipients and sponsoring students for their summer sneaker design and enrichment course.

The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to North Texas charities supporting disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application and review process led by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
