Sundt Promotes Joe Dooley to Senior VP

DALLAS (May 16, 2022) – Sundt Construction promoted Joe Dooley to senior vice president and Texas regional manager for its Transportation Group.

Dooley joined Sundt in 2018 as the leader of the Transportation Group in Texas, bringing over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. In his new, senior leadership role, Dooley will continue to be responsible for business development, preconstruction, operations and client management for Sundt’s Texas transportation projects.

Since arriving at Sundt, Dooley has overseen the delivery of numerous projects and helped secure over $1 billion in new project work, including several additional phases of the San Pedro Creek improvement project in San Antonio, the $477 million 183 North Mobility joint venture project in Austin and a $221 joint-venture tunnel and pipeline project near Athens, Texas.

Before joining Sundt, Dooley spent 17 years working for a national construction firm in Texas and Florida. His experience includes projects ranging from several million to $1.2 billion in Department of Transportation work, light rail transit and aviation. He received a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Cincinnati.

In Texas, Sundt has 50 years and over $3 billion of project experience, with offices in San Antonio, Dallas and El Paso. The company is currently working on the San Pedro Creek Improvements, the Broadway Street improvements, and just started on Zona Cultural in downtown San Antonio, the 183 North Mobility project in Austin and the tunnel and pipeline project near Athens, Texas.
