Funds will be used to help military families and students in the community.

Salt Lake City, Utah (April 20, 2023) – The Sundt Foundation recently awarded $10,000 in grants to two Salt Lake City charities.

“It is very rewarding to work with the nonprofits in our community,” said Jasen Bennie, the Sundt Foundation’s Salt Lake City region board member. “We are grateful to our employee-owners for their contributions in supporting the welfare of our community.”

Wolf Creek Foundation received $5,000 for their support of military families. Whether being deployed or returning from deployment, separation brings stress and anxiety to a military family, which is often difficult to overcome. Through a partnership with Hill Air Force Base, the Wolf Creek Foundation sponsors weekend retreats twice a year, where military families relax, reconnect, and develop much-needed skills to help the entire family cope with deployments. The grant provides help with meals, lodging, and entertainment, along with programming for adults and children.

Salt Lake Education Foundation was awarded $5,000 in support of its work to build bridges between schools and community agencies and organizations. It engages students and families in meaningful and culturally appropriate ways and works with the district to ensure that high school students are ready for college, careers, and life.

The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local Salt Lake City charities that support the disadvantaged members of the community. Nonprofits are selected through an application and review process led by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
