SAN ANTONIO (June 7, 2022) – The Sundt Foundation awarded grants to five nonprofits in the San Antonio area during its current giving round. Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas, Central Catholic High School, Cibolo Center for Conservation, Eva’s Heroes and San Antonio Zoological Society will use their funding to support their missions.

“To help these organizations is truly exciting,” said Chad Yount, the Sundt Foundation’s Central Texas region board member. “With all their amazing work at bettering our community, we are pleased to award organizations with these grants.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas, Central Catholic High School and Cibolo Center for Conservation each received a $3,000 grant. Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas will use the grant to continue its efforts to provide youth mentoring programs that provide support, guidance, and positive role models for youth.

Central Catholic High School’s grant will assist low-income families who struggle with job loss, reduced work hours, illness and the care for children who are unexpectedly at home.

The Cibolo Center for Conservation grant will support the growth of its youth development program, Deep Roots, which uses nature and gardening to develop college and career readiness for at-risk youth in the state foster care system.

The grant Eva’s Heroes received will aid in impacting the lives of children with special needs through its community-based programs.

The San Antonio Zoological Society’s grant will continue to allow students to visit the zoo with no admission fee.

The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local San Antonio and Austin-area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
