SAN ANTONIO (April 25, 2022) – Sundt Construction recently hired Manuel Utsey, Jonathan Truitt, Ricardo Diaz, Zack Hemmen and Ryan Powell in its Texas Transportation Group in San Antonio.
“We are always thrilled to add new members to our team,” said Chad Yount, San Antonio and South Texas area manager in Sundt’s Transportation Group. “Everyone brings different skills and perspectives that advance our teams and the company.”
Utsey, Truitt, Diaz and Hemmen will join the Zona Cultural project in downtown San Antonio. Utsey, a construction industry veteran, will join the team as the project superintendent. He brings 28 years of field experience and 25 years as a superintendent. Both Truitt and Diaz will serve as field engineers on the Zona Cultural revitalization project. Truitt graduated from Texas State University and has four years of industry experience. Diaz joins Sundt after working as a project manager for the last three years. Previously, he served in the Marine Corps for six years, later receiving his bachelor’s in transport and logistics management and his master’s in industrial distribution. Currently enrolled at Texas A&M University, studying construction science, Hemmen will serve as an intern on the project.
Additionally, the Transportation Group hired Ryan Powell as a field engineer on the Broadway Street reconstruction project. He will graduate from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering in May.
In Texas, Sundt has 50 years and $3 billion of project experience, with offices in San Antonio, Dallas and El Paso. The company is currently working on the San Pedro Creek Improvements, the Broadway Street improvements, just started on Zona Cultural in downtown San Antonio and recently broke ground on the $477 million 183 North Mobility project in Austin in a joint venture with Archer Western.
