SAN DIEGO (February 23, 2022) – The Sundt Foundation awarded $18,400 to five nonprofits in the San Diego region during its current giving round.

“Building up our communities is something we really focus on daily,” said Ryan Nessen, the Sundt Foundation’s San Diego region board member. “Any chance we get to do that outside of what we build is very rewarding.”

4 Paws 4 Patriots received $5,000 to assist in obtaining and training evaluated dogs to become medical service dogs to assist veterans or first responders with their disabilities.

The Something Special Fund, which received $5,000, was founded by Promises2Kids to provide funding support for life-enhancing activities and services for children currently within the foster care system in San Diego County.

The Autism Tree Project received $5,000 to provide the financial resources necessary to support educational and support programming.

Junior Achievement of San Diego County, which received $1,700, is focused on breaking through cycles of economic inequity by partnering with educators to empower K-12 students with the knowledge, experiences and tangible tools to be successful.

JBS Transition Experts received $1,700 to support its VetCTAP’s innovative workshop series improving the lives of active military, veterans and their spouses or partners.

The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local San Diego-area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
