SAN ANTONIO (December 13, 2021) – During its current giving round, the Sundt Foundation awarded over $15,000 in grants to six Bexar County nonprofits. Morgan’s Wonderland and SJRC Texas both received $3,500 and Blessings in a Backpack, San Antonio Botanical Garden Society, San Antonio Sports, and Soldiers Angels each received $2,500.

“Each of these organizations serve a population where our Foundation wants to make a difference,” said Chad Yount, the Sundt Foundation’s San Antonio region board member. “Being able to live our company’s purpose every day and give back to our community is very rewarding for our employee-owners.”

Morgan’s Wonderland is a theme park designed for individuals with special needs to make lasting memories with their families. The grant from the Sundt Foundation will go towards supporting admissions costs for over 100 kids with disabilities.

SJRC Texas, formerly known as the St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, has cared for the most vulnerable children and families across the Greater San Antonio region. Supported by the Foundation’s grant, the SJRC programs cover a continuum of care, ensuring each child receives treatment along their healing journey.

Blessings in a Backpack in Boerne will use its grant toward providing children with food for each weekend in their backpacks throughout the school year. The Terrarium Program at the San Antonio Botanical Garden Society will use the funds for its weekly inquiry-based education. San Antonio Sports will use their grant to help its i play! Afterschool program for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Soldiers Angels’ grant will aid their Veteran Support Program.

The Sundt Foundation awards quarterly grants to local San Antonio-area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
