Sundt Foundation Donates to Winter Storm Relief in Texas

 |  Press Release, Sundt Foundation

DALLAS (March 3, 2021) – In response to the devastating winter storms that struck Texas last month, the Sundt Foundation donated $10,000, split equally between the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Let’s Help San Antonio emergency fund, to aid relief efforts.

“The Sundt Foundation has a long tradition of responding to natural disasters like this, dating back to 9/11,” said Stefanie Teller, the Sundt Foundation’s President. “In the 20 years since then, we have provided special grants to assist victims of floods, fires, shootings and other tragedies. It’s an important part of our mission.”

Since the winter storm, over 10,000 families have received over 75 pounds of food from the Tarrant Area Food Bank in Dallas-Fort Worth. Last April, the Sundt Foundation also provided relief during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic by donating $4,000 to the food bank.

The Let’s Help San Antonio emergency fund has raised over three million dollars to help those in desperate need of food, water, and shelter. The first $500,000 donated was matched dollar-for-dollar by three local foundations. Sundt’s donation was included in this match, doubling its impact.  The fund was distributed to three local nonprofits, all of which had previously received funding from the Sundt Foundation.

One organization receiving money from the emergency fund was the San Antonio Food Bank. This is the second time within the past year the Sundt Foundation has supported the nonprofit. In April, $10,000 was donated for relief during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
